‘Seed Forms’

The ‘Seed Forms’ are cast from adapted versions of the moulds used for the Bioliths. The image below shows the first three stages in making these cast and carved forms.

From left: - Four slip-cast blanks with their pour holes plugged (as these are fully enclosed forms with no top or bottom); two blanks with plugs ground away and fettled to remove casting seam lines; then on the right, two ‘Seeds’ fired to around 900ºC and marked up with pencil prior to carving.
